Gallery Display Fabrication & Installation

The fabrication shop has been a busy place these last few months. This recent project for the Autodesk Gallery at 1 Market in SF was completed by our design and fabrication team and installed last month by our installation team. It looks striking and draws people in as the first display they see in the Gallery - and took much detailed craftsmanship to get it there.

Our team worked on the large scale, full color 3D print of the engine. Molding it into shape to create one seamless piece. Then sanding out the rough surface and detail painting parts to create the desired look.

Prototypes for fit tests, in house 3D prints to accompany the display and final brush finishing on the welded and printed parts to create a seamless look for the display.

The stainless cone in place inside the 3D print - fits perfectly and shields light coming from the back. Additional frosted trim rings were added.

Testing the Pixel blaze controller with the dense RGB addressable LEDs. The print still needs final sanding & finish, but the LED programing is almost complete…

The final detail sanding and painting for the 3D print creates a clean polished look, highlighting the colored “wire” ports. Installation was thought through and so went smoothly. The complete project is showcased here on our design site.
